Hi folks!
Here are some photos of a tilt-over vertical antenna I am working on. I expect to be able to use it on 80 and 160 and hopefully even 40. It is ready to go; just need to dig a hole and fill it with mud.

The progress continues.....
A photo of the 6146 zorched tank coil. What it looks like after placing the 500B front panel with the refurbished and calibrated "old school" meters onto the 500 chassis and a lot of clean-up. I personally like the look of the old meters better than the plastic ones found on the newer models.

AM Transmitters / Globe King 500-refurb

Hi Folks!
Just wanted to post some information and photographs on my Globe King 500B refurbish project I started working on last month.
I was pretty excited when I purchaced my Globe King 500B last October. The excitement wore off pretty quick after getting it home, connecting all three decks together and powering it up. The VFO / XTAL switch broke, stopping me dead in my tracks. All three decks appeared to be in pretty rough condition as well. It seemed that even if I did get it up and running, it wouldn't be long that I would be having more problems. So I just unplugged it and rolled it off into a corner.
Last month my interest changed drastically for the better when my good friend Jim, K7EWE gifted my with a model 500 RF deck in far superior condition than the one that came with mine, so a new found enthusiasm kicked in. So far I have refurbished the power supply, VFO and RF deck. The power supply and VFO have been tested and calibrated with the RF deck soon to follow. The modulator will be the last on the list.
