Smith Chart and NEC Links

I was asked by KD6GN for Smith Chart info.
Here is the e-mail message I sent him.
I thought other participants here would be interested....

----------------------
Here's the website for JJSmith, the Smith chart program
I had a hand in writing. First is the top-level page
for Tonne Software, an enterprise by my good friend
Jim Tonne, W4ENE:
http://www.tonnesoftware.com/
And here's the link to the program download page:
http://www.tonnesoftware.com/jjsmith.html
Here are some other websites that I've found have
interesting info on them:
http://www.amanogawa.com/archive/transmissionA.html
This website requires Java to run, but is very
"animated".
http://www.ae6ty.com/Smith_Charts.html
This is another Java-enabled on-line Smith Chart
calculator.
http://home.roadrunner.com/~w4fal/FrankLynch/reference.html
This is the "Smith Chart Society Reference Page"
There's some good info on it and some hi-resolution
PDF's of the Chart.
http://www.edn.com/ContentEETimes/Documents/Tools_EDN_Smith_Chart.pdf
This is a nice PDF of the Chart, suitable for printing.
http://www.edn.com/design/design-tools/development-kits/4373834/Smith-chart-and-how-to-use-it
This is a basic tutorial, an easy read.
http://www.tmworld.com/electronics-news/4384297/How-does-a-Smith-chart-work-
Another tutorial, a bit more advanced and mathematical.
http://vk1od.net/transmissionline/index.htm
A plethora of articles from VK1OD.
http://www.printfreegraphpaper.com/gp/smith.pdf
Another printable Smith Chart in PDF format.
We spoke of the antenna analysis programs based on NEC-2.
Here are the websites:
http://www.eznec.com/
This is the website for the EZNEC program written
by Roy Lewallen, W7EL. It's worth a look-see and
perhaps downloading his free, trial version.
http://www.qsl.net/4nec2/
This is Arie Voors' website for his 4NEC2 program.
It's worth a bit of exploration as well. 4NEC2
is free, and capable of handling very large designs.
It is a bit harder to use than EZNEC, but also
closer to the "bare metal" of the NEC-2 code.
