Digital Modes: What are you using?
I personally run P25, MotoTRBO, and Dstar (I will be replacing this with a p25 radio however)
-
I just started using the digital modes. My only contacts so far have been on PSK31. Looking forward to trying some of the other modes.

I have actually never done digital HF. I think I would be a fan tho.

I think I've tried most of the 'digital' modes at one time or another. I have PSK and SSTV capability now but don't use either very often. The digital voice modes I have very little interest in at all, just none in common amateur use around here. Doubt if there will be in the fore$eeable future.

I completely understand.
Most of the hams around here refuse to spend any money on equipment or put in another analog repeater that just sits in silence...
We have a few new "young" hams that are more interested in the hobby. So hopefully that will help things around here.

I run JT65A when I am in the middle of doing various other things (like writing a column). It is a great DX mode, during even marginal propagation conditions.
I also run Olivia - in various configurations - because it is resilient during marginal conditions. While it is a slower mode, it is very reliable.
CW is another "digital" mode that does not require a computer. I enjoy that.
Cheers....

I mostly run PSK-31 or JT-65A. I have been dabbling in Hellschreiber lately too. I haven't made a QSO on it yet though.
I still have to try Olivia but I plan to soon.

Almost all my HF activity is PSK-31, and i still use AX.25 Packet on VHF fairly often.
Used to run RTTY, but really like PSK-31 using Digipan.

I ordered the Tigertronics USB interface from DX Engineering. It should be here on Monday. I am excited to test it out and run some PSK and JT65 with it. I am sure I will need some help. I plan on using DM780 since that is what is installed on the computer for my FT2000.

I've played around with the digital modes for a couple years. Mostly a listener, because I'm a terrible typist for live QSOs. I'm using a USB SignaLink with an FT897D. I use DM780 and FLDIGI software. FLDIGI is mostly used for NBEMS functions. There are NBEMS NETS on VHF/UHF and HF. There is also weekly test transmissions from Voice of America using AM on HF and the FLDIGI software. Check out www.VOAradiogram.net (http://www.VOAradiogram.net) for details. Bottom line... Lots of fun!! :)
