: Raspberry Pi and Amateur Radio

For those of you who don't know, a raspberry pi is a $35 computer that runs specific distributions of linux. I was wondering if anyone on here has done much with the board and radio. I looked on google and didn't find many people experimenting much with the new board.

I've never even heard of it before.  But, if it will do what you want it to do, isn't a huge pain in some part of your anatomy, then why not?
I'm not fond of being on the 'cutting edge' anymore, too many painful 'cuts', you know?  So, if/when you get the thing to do just what -I- want it to do, then tell me about it!  How do you tell what I want it to do?  How would I know?  ;)

I have a Pi but have not used it for ham stuff yet.

I did talk to a guy via D-Star that was using one as a hot spot.

Where would I go to find out more about Raspberry PI.  I have only heard small bit of information and would like to know more. 73,  Art w1fji

I just picked up a pi, and intend to use it for ADSB and general reception. Idea is to convert from RF to TCP as close to the antenna as possible. My plan is to mount all of this at the top of the chimney.

I am working on replicating this set up to use for mobile computing.  I will be using it to track APRS for a high-altitude balloon that a ham club is putting together, as well as high powered/high altitude rockets.

I've been meaning to get into Raspberry Pi. I can see a lot of cool possibilities with it in regards to radio.

It has a TON of possibilities. Its such a cool toy/tool.
